DayByDay accepts CSV files exported from most banks. The importer automatically detects common column layouts for date, description, and amount. If your bank's format isn't detected, you can manually map the columns during the import step.

Can I invite other family members?

Yes. Go to Household in the sidebar and use the invite link or email to add members. Each member gets their own login and can view shared accounts and transactions.

Is my financial data stored securely?

All data is stored encrypted at rest and transmitted over HTTPS. Your credentials are hashed and never stored in plain text. We do not share your data with third parties.

Do I need to enter my bank login credentials?

No. DayByDay never asks for your bank username or password. You export a statement file from your bank's website and upload that file to DayByDay. Your banking credentials stay entirely with your bank.

Which Singapore banks are supported?

DayByDay accepts statement exports from DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB, Citibank, HSBC, Standard Chartered, and most other Singapore banks that offer CSV or Excel downloads. PDF statements from major local banks are also supported via AI parsing.

How do I categorise a transaction?

Open any transaction from the Transactions page to see its detail panel. Click the Category field and choose from your existing categories, or type to create a new one. Changes are saved immediately.

What are learned rules?

When you categorise a transaction, DayByDay can learn a rule based on the merchant name so future matching transactions are categorised automatically. You can view, edit, and delete these rules on the Learned Rules page.

Can I split a transaction across multiple categories?

Split transactions are not yet supported, but this is planned for a future release. As a workaround, you can add a note to the transaction to record the split manually.

Mark any transaction as 'reimbursable' from its detail panel. It will then appear on the Reimbursements page, where you can track whether it has been paid back. Outstanding reimbursements are highlighted with an indicator in the sidebar.

Go to Transactions and filter by keyword — search for 'GIRO' to list all direct debit entries across all banks. You can then categorise them in bulk or set up learned rules so each payee is automatically sorted into the right category.
